Expressen: Ibrahimovic trains separately from Sweden squad due to discomfort

By Oliver Fisher -

Zlatan Ibrahimovic could miss tomorrow’s game for Sweden against Azerbaijan as he is training alone, according to a report.

According to a report from Expressen in Sweden, the Swedish national team are preparing for the second match of the Euro 2024 qualifiers at home against Azerbaijan on Monday evening, but Ibrahimovic is missing from training.

The press manager Petra Thorén said that the 41-year-old is doing individual training today due to feeling some discomfort, and subsequently there are question marks about whether he will play any part in tomorrow’s game.

The final decision will of course come down to the player in conjunction with the medical staff and the head coach Janne Andersson ahead of tomorrow’s match against Azerbaijan which kicks off at 20:45 CEST.

Given that he spent over eight months out due to knee surgery and is now 41 years of age, there will certainly be no desire from anyone to take risks.

  1. It’s time to hang up the boots buddy. No one wants to see a great go out like this. I have had the same experience where my body was behind where my mind was. I was seeing what my younger body could have done on the field but my current body wasn’t able to execute it. This resulted in alot of strain on the body and injuries
