CM: Not only Sportiello – three other free agents Milan have their eye on

By Oliver Fisher -

The AC Milan management are always attentive to opportunities to strengthen the squad that don’t require a large financial outlay, and there are a number of players on their list.

Calciomercato.com report that Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara plan to refresh the squad this summer starting with a number of exits such as Sergino Dest who will return to Barcelona, Ciprian Tatarusanu whose contract will not be renewed, Tiemoue Bakayoko whose loan will end plus Ante Rebic, Fode Ballo-Toure, Brahim Díaz, Yacine Adli and Divock Origi who are all in the balance.

The directors know that a large number of outgoings must be combined with a large number of signings, and the first through the door should be Marco Sportiello who will soon sign a three-year contract with an option for a fourth.

However, there is a list of other free transfers that appeals to Milan. There will be a meeting with agent Jorge Mendes in the coming days in which Marco Asensio will be discussed, while Houssem Aouar is leaving Lyon and wants a signal from Milan before considering other clubs.

There is an old flame that could well be rekindled too: Massara has always liked Evan N’Dicka a lot and he hasn’t renewed with Eintracht Frankfurt yet. Barcelona are keen in the French defender but a new attempt by the Rossoneri is not to be ruled out.

  1. What’s going to be key is how quickly and decisively Milan is going to move on these targets. Free agents have options, and the best deal secure the signature. Let’s hope they can make the necessary sales in time to give themselves some bargaining power
