MN: Pioli’s position not in immediate doubt – evaluations postponed until the summer

By Oliver Fisher -

Stefano Pioli’s position as the head coach of AC Milan is absolutely not at risk currently but at the end of the season evaluations will be made, a report claims.

As MilanNews reports, it has not been a good season domestically for Milan at all as they are 23 points behind leaders Napoli in Serie A, they suffered elimination in the round of 16 of the Coppa Italia at the hands of Torino and they lost 3-0 to rivals Inter in the Supercoppa Italiana.

Pioli has been accused of not helping the team get out of their various struggles with his tactical approach and for not motivating a team that seem weak in spirit and mentality compared to last season.

Despite this, the fault does not only belong to Pioli and his position at Milan is not under ‘very strong discussion’. As applies to everyone, evaluations made at the end of the season with the clearly influential factor of whether qualification for the next Champions League is secured or not.

It cannot be excluded that if Milan were to continue with their ups and downs some more serious reflection will take place, but the fact he recently extended until 2025 and the two big objectives on the horizon (top four and Champions League quarter-finals) means nothing will happen soon.
