SM: Kalulu to miss Napoli clash as scans show calf muscle problem

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s fears have been confirmed as Pierre Kalulu has suffered a calf muscle problem while on international duty with France’s U21 team.

As learned by our colleagues at SempreMilan.it, Kalulu underwent a scan this morning to understand the extent of the problem that he has picked up, and they showed a lesion to the soleus muscle of his right calf.

New checks will be carried out in a week which means that he will definitely miss the trip to face Napoli in the league at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Sunday night, and the tests in a week will give a more precise idea of his recovery time.

With a muscle problem it is natural to presume the absence will be the best part of a month, which also puts the two Champions League games against Luciano Spalletti’s side at risk too. It could also have implications on Pioli’s decisions regarding a three or four-man defence.

    1. If an injury is needed to get Kjaer to fix the leaky defense then injury is welcome. Too bad it wasn’t Tomori instead as he’s the weakest link atm.

    1. “why would anyone play hard in that game..”

Because if you don’t play at 100% why play at all? You clearly don’t play any (team)sports yourself.
