Chief scout responds to Milan’s reported interest in star Basel duo: “We’ll see”

Basel’s chief scout has responded to the rumours that AC Milan have taken an interest in signing two of their players, namely Renato Veiga and Finn van Breemen.

Gianluca Di Marzio published a report which listed a number of young players that the Milan scouting department are looking at. He stated that Alessandro Marcandalli of Reggiana (on loan from Genoa) and striker Akor Adams at Montpellier are attracting interest from Milan, for example.

He spoke of two other young players that the Rossoneri have been followed in recent weeks: 20-year-old Basel defender Finn van Breemen and 20-year-old Basel midfielder Renato Veiga.

Patrick Dippel, who is Basel’s chief scout, is present at the TransferRoom Summit in Estoril, Portugal. He spoke a number of topics during an interview with TMW from the Congress Center of the Portuguese city and he was asked about Milan’s supposed interest in Van Breemen and Renato Veiga.

“I don’t know if Milan is interested or not (laughs), I read the news. In the past we chose to sign young players who would have acquired interest from big clubs like Milan so… We’ll see what happens.”
