CM: Milan still finding new homes for disappointing Premier League loanees

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan are trying to find new homes for both Divock Origi and Fode Ballo-Toure in the summer with both players currently failing to impress whilst on loan in the Premier League.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, both Origi and Ballo-Toure caused Milan some problems in the latter stage of the 2023 summer transfer window as they were turning down various moves.

Eventually, Origi headed to Nottingham Forest on loan, and Ballo-Toure went to Fulham on loan. Forest have an option to sign Origi for €4.5m but given his lack of impact and their potential relegation, that seems unlikely to be used.

The Belgian has no future at Milan and the club are evaluating potential options in America and Turkey, knowing that they can only demand a small fee despite him having two years on his contract.

As for Ballo-Toure, he is totally out of Marco Silva’s plans at Fulham and has market value will have dropped considerably over the last year.

He could be set for a permanent move to Ligue 1 where he has played before, but Milan will not get the kind of fee that they were hoping for back in 2023 as buying clubs know that they want to sell him.

  1. Loan them or give them away for free, sometimes you win and sometimes you lose…
It’s a shame, I had high hopes for Origi, he’s regressed a lot since that Milan-Liverpool game three years ago
