AC Milan are working on a deal for Lille defender Tiago Santos that would see him arrive in the summer, a report claims.
A report from Calciomercato.com provides further confirmation for what was reported exclusively by Sempre Milan on Wednesday. Milan have made a verbal offer to Lille for Santos who could cost the Rossoneri around €12m.
Milan are known to have an excellent relationship with Lille and Geoffrey Moncada’s scouting knowledge is primarily based in Ligue 1 thanks to his work with Monaco, so links to players in Ligue 1 are common.
Whilst Milan could still make a move for Lille’s Jonathan David, it is Santos who looks most likely to make the same move that Mike Maignan, Rafael Leao and Tiago Djalo have in the past.
The 2002-born right-back arrived in France for €6.5m and Milan view him as a good depth option who can develop into a starter, especially considering both Alessandro Florenzi and Davide Calabria will be out of contract in 2025.
There is no real talk of contract renewals for Florenzi and Calabria yet, and Milan’s stance could be influenced by who they sign this summer.
Juventus are also linked with Santos so there could be a battle between the two Serie A giants.
Good, it took a very long time for this management to realise that Calabria is a mediocre player.
Getting closer to the management’s dream of having zero Italians in the team.
gotta wonder why the F did they sign Terracciano. We dont need to waste cash on RB this summer
We don;t even know if Terra is any good, because Pioli won’t use him. We need to establish if he is a better alternative to Calabria. Which he could be.
Is he cheap and foreign? That’s all that’s required to sign for Milan under these owners.
Vanderson from monaco is the next maicon. I’d rather sign him if we are serious in signing a new righback. Personally, i prefer to give terracciano a chance. Him and calabria are my choices for RB next season
