It may be the weekend, but AC Milan’s work on the transfer market has not stopped and two operations have virtually been closed.
According to a report from Gianluca Di Marzio, Ante Rebic is about to say goodbye to Milan. On the morning of Friday 28 July there were decisive contacts between Milan and Besiktas, while the deal should close today.
The operation will be a permanent deal for the Croatian forward, who will head to Istanbul for a total sum of €2m when factoring in bonuses, while Milan shed his €3.5m net per season salary.
Milan are continuing to reinforce Stefano Pioli’s midfield too, and after the arrivals of Tijjani Reijnders and Ruben Loftus-Cheek it seems Yunus Musah will be the next.
The management offered €18m fixed plus €2m in bonuses but remodelled the proposal to €20m fixed without bonuses and are waiting for Valencia to formally accept.
The Spanish club has already made it clear to the player’s agents that the figure will be accepted, and thus preparations for his medical can begin.
Let’s be honest only 2M for Rebic is terrible. Turns out selling players is not so easy as it seems lol

And that’s always going to be the case if the salaries are too high and one of the main problems with free transfers. That’s one of the benefits of buying players with a fee and lower salaries, it’s easier to incentivise them to move on if they don’t fit into plans.
He wasn’t a free transfer and makes 3.5M. Not that (crazy) high. It’s reasonable – but I understand your point for free agents. Always risk and reward. That’s the gamble. Thuram is a prime example. Is he a 5M/season player that Inter players for? NO. He scored 11 (?) goals in Germany. BUT he was free so he managed to get himself a higher salary. Def an overpay but when your desperate (have limited transfer funds) you pay up and hope he justifies the fee. Same as we did with Origi. And if you don’t offer a higher salary you wouldn’t get them in the first place.
Origi came on a free transfer but with a huge salary. A huge mistake really. Another we will have to practically give away to another team
Tonali was sold for 70 million.
Rebic would have been sold easier but he has high wages. And he had injuries, poor form, etc.
I’d rather they’d sell him and not have to pay that high salary. Win win for everyone.

Origi too maybe only 3-4m euro . It is hard to sell player with bad performance but have salary 4m euro nett. Well as long as rebic + origi leave for whatever price that will be good , more better if ACM can sell junior & salad too
