Di Marzio: Milan and Sheffield Wednesday in talks over loan for goalkeeper

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are in talks with English side Sheffield Wednesday over the potential loan of goalkeeper Devis Vasquez, according to a report.

It was back in January that Milan announced they had signed Vasquez on a deal until June 2026 from Club Guarani in Paraguay. It was expected that he would challenge Ciprian Tatarusanu for the number one spot whilst Mike Maignan recovered from injury.

However, in the end he has proven to be more of a mystery signing than anything as he never made an appearance for the senior team and played once for the Primavera, which has made his summer exit seem obvious.

According to what is being reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan are talking to Sheffield Wednesday about the 25-year-old ahead of what would be a loan move to the Yorkshire club.

Wednesday achieved promotion back to the Championship last season via the play-offs, which is the second tier of English football.

  1. This wasn’t a mystery signing at all. Milan had to fill a Non-EU slot last season in order to not lose it this season, so they had to sign this kid.

    1. Exactly 💯 M&M got the cheapest possible player to fill the non-EU spot

On another note, we have like 5 GKs smh. Jungdal, Mirante, Sport, Mike, Vasquez

      1. Vasquez is out. jungdahl is prima. Mirante is a fossil. Sport is an adventure. Our hopes rest with Super Mike.
