El Nacional: Real Madrid outcast tempted by Aston Villa but prioritises Milan move

By Oliver Fisher -

Brahim Díaz returned to Real Madrid at the end of his two-year loan spell at AC Milan and it has already become clear he ‘has no future’ there, a report claims.

El Nacional writes that even though many expected him to have little participation as a starter, given the enormous competition that exists in his position, they did believe that Brahim Diaz could be an important rotation option.

However, the reality is that he is not a big part of the plans of Carlo Ancelotti at present, who has never hidden that he does not trust his abilities. In fact, he has opposed his return in the past, and he didn’t give approval this year either.

Florentino Pérez did not pay attention to him, and he decided to bring the Spanish-Moroccan forward back, convinced that he could be a decisive player after three years at Milan.

He paid around €20m to sign him from Manchester City, an investment that was highly criticised given Brahim had little experience in big games, and his contract was ending a few months later so he could have arrived for free then.

Brahim ‘has a foot and a half out of Madrid’ ahead of the January window and the recovery of Arda Güler does not play in his favour either. Aston Villa are the latest side to show an interest, and they are willing to pay around €35m.

The idea of joining Unai Emery at Villa Park does not completely displease Brahim, especially if it guarantees him being the undisputed starter, but first he is giving priority to Milan.

If he could choose, he is much more in favour of going back to the Rossoneri, where he was very happy and he has excellent memories. Given Milan no longer play with a playmaker and are well stocked in attack, it seems difficult.

Continuing in Madrid, at least at this moment, is ruled out by both Díaz and Ancelotti.

  1. I think everyone did know that he doesn’t have space in Real. Milan did good job investing in Pulisic rather than Brahim.
Pulisic costs 20 million in transfer fee and for Brahim they requested much more.

Unfortunately Chukwueze didn’t settle well but from this season we are on correct path to make much stronger team during the time.
