GdS: Besiktas also targeting deal for Messias after €2m Rebic operation

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are at work trying to offload players no longer deemed a part of their plans and Ante Rebic should be the first to depart, a report claims.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below), Rebic will be heading to Besiktas and he could actually be joined by Junior Messias who is also in the sights of the Turkish club.

What Milan have been planning for some time is beginning to bear fruit as the signing of Christian Pulisic, Luka Romero, Noah Okafor and Samuel Chukwueze have made it clear there is no room for Rebic and Messias, who are looking to move on.

The Rossoneri management are aiming make room for more signings and to save on the salaries of those who ended up on the sidelines of the project.

Rebic for example earns €3.5m net per season which is €5m gross with the Growth Decree, yet only slightly less than Theo Hernandez who is one of the team of the pillars. Besiktas will pay €500k fixed plus €1.5m bonuses as a transfer fee.

Messias meanwhile would get very little playing time next season after the signings of Romero, Chukwueze and Pulisic for the right wing role, and Besiktas are interested in signing him too as we reported yesterday.

The Istanbul club presented a first offer but the attempt failed because it was too low, though they could raise their bid in the next few hours.
