FC Porto coach Sergio Conceicao is set to meet with new club president Andre Villas-Boas today to decide whether he is going to continue as the coach or not.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (as seen below), today is the day of truth of Conceicao who has been heavily linked with the managerial role at AC Milan with Stefani Pioli not expected to stay beyond the end of the season.
Villas-Boas won the presidential election at Porto recently and has inherited a confusing situation. Conceicao had extended his contract but it turned out the extension was only legal if the former president, Pinto da Costa, stayed in his role.
Conceicao openly supported Da Costa, so he and Villas-Boas must discuss the future and work out whether they can have a working relationship or not.
The Porto coach is a Jorge Mendes client and the agent is keen on making him the Milan coach, and it is also believed that he would be a popular choice among the Milan fanbase.
The report also claims that Milan would be right at the top of Conceicao’s list, despite their being so many jobs available this summer.
Milan will be watching the meeting between Conceicao and Villas-Boas closely.
