While the name of Joshua Zirkzee continues to dominate the headlines in terms of AC Milan’s summer striker signing, another possible option has emerged in Mateo Retegui.
According to the journalist Alessandro Jacobone (via Radio Rossonera), the Genoa striker has in fact been proposed by his agents to both Milan and Juventus, with one of the two teams showing much more interest than the other.
He claimed that Retegui’s representatives are working to get him a move in the summer and thus put his name forward to Geoffrey Moncada and Cristiano Giuntoli respectively. At the moment ‘the feedback is still unknown’ he adds.
Meanwhile, Tuttosport are claiming that the first contacts between the Juventus management and the Genoa striker’s entourage have already taken place and it cannot be ruled out that Retegui will play in the European Championship this summer as a Bianconeri player already.
Retegui arrived at newly-promoted Genoa last summer from Tigre in Argentina and he had a red hot start to life in Serie A. He has been quieter as of late, but he still has eight goals and three assists in 25 appearances this season, with six of those goals coming in the league.
As a reminder, the Rossoneri were linked with Retegui before he opted to join Genoa.
We don’t need him so we don’t care
Quality player but not ready for this type of move yet
id let him stay at genoa for 1 more year and then maybe go for him but now is still too soon
