Longo: Milan have made final call on Jovic’s future – the details

By Ben Dixon -

This summer, investment will be made by AC Milan into their new striker. However, they must remain intelligent with their movement, and that is why the management will decide on Luka Jovic’s future shortly.

It has been a season of ups and downs for Jovic. The first period until the game against Borussia Dortmund filled Milan with doubt about their recruitment of the Serbian striker. However, after that game, he took off, training harder and scoring goals for fun.

Whilst his season has not continued in terms of the goalscoring record, he has still been vital on occasions, which is a trait which the Rossoneri must look to utilise next season, given their striker options will be limited with Olivier Giroud departing to Los Angeles FC at the end of his contract.

As Daniele Longo reports for Calciomercato.com, with this in mind, the Diavolo management have decided on his future in a meeting this morning with his agent, Fali Ramadani. The decision was that both parties want to move forward together, and a new contract is expected to be arranged in the next few days.

It is believed that instead of renewing his yearly contract, Jovic will be offered a completely new deal on a multi-year basis to give themselves security and match the Serbian’s wishes to stay at the club.

  1. Very good and right decision, if only Pioli had not mismanaged him like other players, he would have played more, had more goals, and created more goals, that’s a good decision by the club

  2. Good but it needs to be clear that he will very likely be backup striker. We need to focus on getting a starting and good striker

  3. I Agee 100% with you Usman. Real paid 60million for the guy that should say something. Pioli could have managed him better. He can be deadly with confidence

  4. He needs to play in a 2 striker system. If we change system with a new coach to that then I get it. All of his goals came in a 2 striker system w Giroud and just as they did when he was in Germany. On a cheap deal for the 3rd choice striker for depth ok I guess, but starter or primary backup as a #9?? No way. But I’m sure it will be a cheap deal so of course we will do it, I mean it’s Redbird after all

    1. He can play 433 with rebic on LW and haller on RW. But he is poacher type ,static and need service . Tap in are his best skill . He is just back up with salary 2-3m euro nett , not bad deal
