Former Milan defender Bonucci admits he has ‘only loved two shirts’ in his career

Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci has admitted that he has only loved two of the sides that he has represented in his career and neither of them are AC Milan.

Speaking during an interview with Junior Reporter (via Milan News), the Italian defender snubbed Milan and his time at the club by saying that the only shirts he has loved are that of Juventus and the Italian national team.

In my career I have only loved two shirts: that of the national team and that of Juventus. Wearing the captain’s armband is a source of pride and responsibility for men,” Bonucci said.

Bonucci has played for seven different senior teams during his career including loans at Treviso and Pisa and spells at Bari and Genoa after he graduated from the Inter academy.

He signed for Juventus in 2010 from Bari but was sold to Milan in 2017 for €42 million. It was a move that did not work well for either party and Juventus signed him back again a year later for €35 million.

The 35-year-old played 51 times for Milan and scored twice during his short spell with the club.

  1. One of the biggest mistake Milan ever made was signed this guy.

Another proof that expensives signings will not always follow with a success.

  2. The guy cannot defend without Chiellin even if his life depended on it, he is just like Trent Alexander Arnold without Jordan Henderson, very bad defenders once their defending partner is missing, their defending weaknesses are exposed.

  3. Not even one single Milan fan would remember him. One of the biggest mistake Milan has ever did was signed him. He is nothing without Chiellini !!!
