MN: Milan will travel to Florence one day early for crucial clash – the reason

AC Milan will take on Fiorentina next weekend and it’s a crucial game for the standings. With Inter eyeing Scudetto celebrations in the derby, the Rossoneri cannot afford to drop points and will leave for the game earlier than initially planned.

Milan clinched three important points away at Hellas Verona last time out and another away game awaits, with Fiorentina up at the Artemio Franchi. It will be a special game for La Viola, still mourning the loss of their director Joe Barone who passed away suddenly.

According to MilanNews, Milan have decided to travel to Florence on Friday instead of Saturday, wanting to avoid any potential traffic delays. Since it’s the Easter weekend, this likely would have been the case on Saturday, hence why they changed the departure date.

Theo Hernandez will be serving a suspension, which is a huge blow for Milan, and this means the other key players such as Tijjani Reijnders and Rafael Leao will have to step up. It looks like Alessandro Florenzi will get the chance on the left, with Filippo Terracciano not quite ready.

The proper preparations for the game will begin next week as those currently on international duty will be back at Milanello.
