Telelombardia: The five signings Conte would want to ease Milan’s 3-5-2 transition

By Oliver Fisher -

Antonio Conte would ask for five quality signings if he were to become the head coach of AC Milan, including a couple of players that he knows very well.

Late last month, Luca Momblano did a segment live on Telelombardia in which he claimed that Conte has reached a verbal agreement to take over at Milan, and since then the rumours have gone into overdrive again.

Now, the same source have taken a look at the signings that Conte has apparently asked for, starting with Romelu Lukaku whom he worked with at Inter. He is likely to leave Roma, and would cost about €40m.

The same amount would be spent on Federico Chiesa, who Juventus could sacrifice in the summer to finance their summer transfer plans especially amid the questionable way Max Allegri is using him,

In midfield, then, Conte would like Rodrigo de Paul – currently at Atlético Madrid – whose value is around €30m. At centre-back, Alessandro Buongiorno of Torino is a target for around €40m.

However, the first signing in the summer that Conte would love to have for his Milan is Giovanni Di Lorenzo. Conte believes Davide Calabria is not a good fit for his 3-5-2, so he has the Napoli captain in his sights who is worth €30m.

How would all these signings be finances? With the sale of Rafael Leão to PSG or another club as per the source, and with the money from other sales like Charles De Ketelaere and Alexis Saelemaekers.

    1. Conte only wants to come to club who ready big spend every mercato. Are milan ready with his tagline now build with some young player ? I dont think so. Stick with pioli or sign gasparini as coach next season.

  1. Sounds promising, but then again it was like that at the end of last summer’s transfer window. I think signing Chiesa and Lukaku is a huge gamble, but if it works out then great. The only negative thing in all of this is benching Pulisic. Yes, we can shift to 3-4-3 mid game and have Chiesa on LW, pulisic on RW and Lukaku as a CF to rotate with Giroud, but we would need at least 1 LWB as backup for theo and LW that can play in centar like Okafor.

    1. Woww you’re very good and smart too,my wish for the club is that the American 🇺🇸 owner will sell the club to the Arab owners whom can invest more and more ever transfer season and not to sell our key players before buying another..

  2. It seems nobody has learned from Roma. They got rid of that park-the-bus me-vs-the-world troglodite Trump wanna be dinosaur Mourinho and have gone 3-0-0 since, with a guy whose only prior experience was going 3-6-7 with SPAL in Serie B. Roma have a good squad and Mourinho suffocated it. NO to Conte. NO to negative football.

      1. Speculation is great. Maybe if Mourinho had gotten an extension he would have won Serie A next season? Who knows! Wait until they play Inter? LOL. Wait until anybody plays Inter. Anyway, my post isn’t about how De Rossi is the next Guardiola, it is about coaches who play archaic boring defensive football and are unnecessarily confrontational to boot.

  3. Please NO. Too much new signings.
    – RWB : Calabria or Saelemaekers. Saelemaekers might be better in advanced role than RB.

And i think Conte might prefers 3-4-3 like when he did with Chelsea, because AC Milan has very good wingers in Leao, Pulisic, Chukwueze. Or Conte can move Leao to CF, Pulisic as LW & Chukwueze as RW.
And for double Pivot : Loftus-Cheeks & Bennacer with backup Musah & Adli.
Don’t ask about CBs & WBL, because AC Milan already has the best in Serie-A :
    – Theo Hernandez’s best pos ofcourse as an advancing WB : WBL.
    – 3 CBs : Kalulu, Thiaw, Tomori. With backup : Gabbia, Kjaer, Pellegrini. Very deep CBs.

  4. I don’t know how much stock I’m putting into anything Telelombardia has to say..

They are just generating clicks and views at this point.
