Tuttosport: Milan should not retain Belgian midfielder this summer

By Euan Burns -

AC Milan should not try to make their loan deal for Aster Vranckx permanent in the summer despite having the option to, according to the press.

Tuttosport (via Milan News) have reported that it would be a bad decision for the Rossoneri to pay the €12 million that is required to sign Vranckx on a permanent basis.

He has been on loan from Wolfsburg this season but has made almost no impact, with Stefano Pioli using him very sparingly in the midfield.

There were hopes that Vranckx would grow in influence for Milan during the season, as has been the case for Malick Thiaw, but it has not materialised that way and there is little clear reason to spend €12m on him.

The club will need to pursue other midfield targets during the summer and hope that they are able to take to the Milan team better than Vranckx has done, who will return to Wolfsburg and fight for his place there.

  1. I think the guy is a good player. He would’ve have done great this season if he was given enough chances. He’s skillful, strong and smart. Why not invest on him and make him grow with chances

    1. because he has shown nothing special at all and 12m is not nothing. how do we know he is smart..? he has done nothing to prove that. he is not strong, he is not fast… he is not bad either but there are no flashes of brilliance so why spend 12m on a player who might maybe possibly become good if all the stars align. we need to save all money and spend on a few top class talents not on a bunch of average to below average kids.

  2. When he performed elsewhere and has his value skyrocket then we’ll start wiping. This guy has given no chance at all how tf would he even show anything?

  3. It’s strange to say that a player doesn’t contribute much while he got limited playing time.
It’s pioli who failed to get best out of a player.
What can you expect from a coach who spoke high about Krunic at several times..
