Napoli captain Di Lorenzo previews Milan clash: “We must be enthusiastic”

AC Milan and Napoli will face each other in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday evening. Partenopei captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo believes it will be a tight affair between two good teams.

After the 4-0 win at the Maradona just last weekend, Milan have a slight psychological advantage and it seems Victor Osimhen won’t be back for the game either. On the other hand, Napoli have been successful at San Siro in recent years.

Speaking to DAZN last night, as cited by MilanNews, Di Lorenzo shared his thoughts on the important clash. He stated that Napoli must be enthusiastic, perhaps referring to the lack of fighting spirit in the 4-0 loss against Milan.

“Milan? From tomorrow (today, editor’s note) we will think about the game. We will have to face it with serenity and continue to do what has led us to first place in the standings. We must be carefree, enthusiastic and then with the manager, we will see how to tactically handle the game,” he stated.

The game is scheduled for 21:00 on Wednesday and Stefano Pioli is expected to field the same XI we saw in the 4-0 win. In other words, the likes of Simon Kjaer and Rade Krunic will be back in the XI.
