Official: Juventus vs. AC Milan starting XIs – Pioli names a strong line-up

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has named a much strong starting line-up for the game against Juventus compared to the team that played Real Madrid earlier on the week.

Pioli has opted to stick with the 4-3-3 system but has made three changes to the rearguard with Mike Maignan in goal, Malick Thiaw partnering Fikayo Tomori at centre-back and Theo Hernandez as left-back with Davide Calabria on the right.

Tijjani Reijnders gets his first start for Milan, occupying the role of the left-sided mezzala with Ruben Loftus-Cheek across from him on the right and Rade Krunic once again adapted to the role of regista.

In attack, the rather satisfying ‘9-10-11’ trident will be used with Christian Pulisic on the right wing, Rafael Leao on the left and Olivier Giroud as the centre-forward, meaning six changes in total from the Real game.

Official Milan XI (4-3-3): Maignan; Calabria, Thiaw, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Loftus-Cheek, Krunic, Reijnders; Pulisic, Giroud, Leao.

Bench: Mirante, Sportiello; Bartesaghi, Florenzi, Simić; Adli, Pobega, Romero, Saelemaekers, Zeroli; Colombo, De Ketelaere, Traore.

Official Juventus XI (3-5-2): Szczesny; Gatti, Bremer, Danilo; Weah, McKennie, Locatelli, Miretti, Cambiaso; Chiesa, Kean.

Bench: Daffara, Pinsoglio; Alex Sandro, DeWinter, Huijsen, Rugani; Barrenechea, Kostić, Nicolussi C., Nonge; Iling-Junior, Milik, Soulé, Yildiz.

    1. Before you post a comment check facts and don’t embarrass yourself. Derby d’Italia is derby between Juve and inter. Derby between Juve and Milan is called by Il derby dei Campioni.

    1. DAZN is where I’m getting my feed
I really thought some of the YES network would have brought it given the connection with Cardinale

      1. Already download the apps and I still the match isn’t there.

I can watch from other source but the quality is bad…

        Any suggestions?

  1. Calabria is off after taking a knock. Hope it’s nothing too serious.

Malick Thiaw just scored off a Theo’s freekick. Good.

  2. Despite the lead, I don’t think milan have played very well.
Pretty timid i would say, especially in the midfield.
The only lively player was reinjders.
His drive forward and his vision for through pass is very promising.
Krunic and rlc were sub par.
While the likes of theo, leao and pulisic have been very quiet, i would have expected more from them.
But then again, it’s their first game as starter for the former two.

      1. Nah, i wouldn’t write him off so early.
He showed some good stuff against real madrid.
It’s more of the positioning of the players.
Pioli clearly instructed him to play more forward than the game against madrid
