Official: Ante Rebic completes move to Besiktas on a permanent basis

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan have confirmed that Ante Rebic has joined Besiktas in a permanent transfer, saying goodbye to the Rossoneri after four years at the club.

Rebic arrived in Istanbul on Sunday afternoon and subsequently underwent the medical tests earlier today. On their official website, Milan have confirmed that the Croatian has been sold on a permanent basis to the Turkish side.

“AC Milan can announce that Ante Rebić has joined Beşiktaş JK on a permanent deal. The Club would like to thank Ante and wishes him all the best in his personal life and professional career,” the statement read.

Milan reportedly sold the player for an initial fee of €500k plus an additional €1.5m in bonuses. The Rossoneri could thus bank a total of €2m from the transfer which, in any case, will result in a capital loss.

Rebic was excluded from Milan’s squad for the final games of last season and it’s clear that his relationship with Stefano Pioli completely broke down. Therefore, the transfer was only a matter of time.

  1. People here need to stop being rude to players for once

Thanks Rebic, he had a horrible start and a horrible end but sprinkled in towards the middle he was really good and scored plenty of crucial goals for us.

Wish it worked out better, his profile of player is rare, he just seems to have lost a lot of his skill during the Scudetto season.

  2. Good work for selling Rebic, good luck with his new club. I think we should keep Yacni Adli, he seems to be talented perfect playmaker, that’s why many clubs such as Sevile wants him,we should keep him.
    Thanks.

    1. But why keep him if Pioli is never going to play him? I agree that he has looked good in the few times I’ve seen him get minutes but clearly Pioli doesn’t like him for the team and with the new players they signed, I don’t see him ever getting game time.

  3. It’s a shame w/ all of his injuries toward the end of his time with us. He had fantastic back to back seasons with double-digit goals; he always worked super hard pressing and causing turnovers; and he was unselfish delivering great thru balls or accurate crosses with either foot. I hope he is successful at Besiktas.

  4. Thank you Ante, and best of luck for your next endeavour.

Absolutely one of my favourite player during the covid era, his consistent output allowed Leao the time needed to blossom.
