AC Milan Women 3-3 Fiorentina: Rossoneri frustrated after late capitulation

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan Women suffered disappointment at home this afternoon as they let a two-goal lead slip late on against Fiorentina, drawing 3-3.

Milan got off to a strong start and opened the scoring in just the fourth minute as Vigliucci finished impressively, and then Asllani pounced on some uncertainty at the back and made it a two-goal lead before the break.

In the 69th minute Fiorentina halved the deficit from the spot as Vero Boquete converted, but a two-goal lead for Milan was then restored by Piemonte, who converted from the spot after a penalty was awarded for a foul on Thomas.

The Rossonere nearly made it four in the 79th minute but Nouwen’s free-kick rattled the crossbar, and then the comeback came. Fiorentina made it 3-2 through Hammarlund in the 88th minute and then equalised five minutes into injury time, as Boquete again converted from the penalty spot to snatch a late point.
