Napoli win and pending renewals: The latest news on AC Milan Women

By Steph Insixiengmay -

The AC Milan Women were in action over the weekend as they defeated Napoli by a score of 3-2 at the Vismara. The action was not only contained to the pitch as the team has been manoeuvring off it too.

It was a rollercoaster of an afternoon at the PUMA House of Football. In the end, the Rossonere beat Napoli 3-2 in their third Relegation Round match to make it five consecutive wins in Serie A.

Mascarello, Bergamaschi and Kamila Dubcová all got on the scoresheet for Milan, who were pegged back twice by the visitors following Del Estal’s finish and an unfortunate own goal from Julie Piga in the 87th minute.

Here’s the latest news about the Milan Women…

➤ Angelica Soffia signed a three-year renewal with the Rossonere. As per Milan themselves, the defender signed a renewal with the club until June 2027.

➤ According to SempreMilan’s Luca Maninetti, Milan are close to reaching an agreement to renew midfielder Valery Vigilucci. No agreement has been reached yet but the two parties are said to be close to reaching a deal.

➤ In contrast, there is no such agreement for the renewal of Kosovare Asllani. The midfielder and team captain is said to be waiting to see what changes Milan will make to their personnel during the postseason, and who their next coach will be, before making a decision.

➤ If Asllani does not reach an agreement with Milan, however, she does have a few offers from abroad. As was previously reported, the Swede is currently being courted by a few American teams, including the San Diego Wave and the Kansas City Current.

➤ The Rossonere will also return to action this weekend. They’ll take off the U.C. Sampdoria Women this Sunday at the Stadio Trabattoni and kickoff will be at 12:30 PM CEST.
